Apply for Event Sponsorship Grant Funding!

As part of the Aberdeen Hotel Alliance mission, we make funds available to businesses and organizations looking to host events in Aberdeen that will require overnight stays in our hotels and motels. Funds are awarded based on our published criteria, requirements, and restrictions.

Before beginning this grant application make sure you have consulted with the Aberdeen Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. (Failure to register your event prior to submitting an Aberdeen Hotel Alliance Sponsorship Grant Funding request will result in application denial.)

*You will need to submit your event to the Aberdeen Area Calendar of Events prior to requesting Aberdeen Hotel Alliance Funding. Here is the link to submit your event. www.AberdeenAreaEvents.com.

*Make sure you collect the following information needed prior to starting the sponsorship grant application.

Do you have what you need?

  • Have you contacted the Aberdeen Area Convention & Visitors Bureau to register your event(s)?
  • Your organization’s tax ID and a completed W-9 form.
  • Your event marketing plan.
  • Your event budget.
  • A document outlining the fundraising events to-date
  • A document describing how Aberdeen Hotel Alliance Sponsorship Fund will be utilized
  • *Please note, the Aberdeen Hotel Alliance and the Aberdeen Area Convention & Visitors Bureau will need to be listed as a sponsor on any and all electronic and print marketing for your organization/event.

If your application appears to meet our guidelines, someone from the Aberdeen Area CVB will contact you to discuss your funding request.

All event(s) hosted and confirmed by the Aberdeen Area Convention & Visitors Bureau will contribute to the Aberdeen Hotel Alliance request for Sponsorship Grant Funding.
Have you reviewed and agreed to the Aberdeen Hotel Alliance Event Sponsorship Grant Funding Requirements, Guidelines, and Restrictions?(Required)
Did you submit your event to the Aberdeen Area Events Calendar? This must be done prior to submitting an application for Aberdeen Hotel Alliance Sponsorship Funding.(Required)

Aberdeen Hotel Alliance Sponsorship Grant Funding Event Details

Out of Town Visitors defined as outside the 100-mile radius of Aberdeen.
Total number of hotel rooms needed (per night) for the event.
Do you require hotel room availability or rooms rates from Aberdeen hotels?(Required)
This will need to set up in advance prior to submitting a grant for Aberdeen Hotel Alliance Sponsorship Funding. This will be done directly with the Aberdeen Area Convention & Visitors Bureau representative.
Describe the event which you propose to use Sponsorship Funds from the Aberdeen Hotel Alliance. (Please limit to 300 words or less.)
Do you have a promotional/marketing plan for the event?(Required)
The Aberdeen Hotel Alliance and the Aberdeen Area Convention and Visitors Bureau must be listed as a contributing sponsor of event if funded.
Failure to do this will result in the denial of future Aberdeen Hotel Alliance Sponsorship Grant Funding requests.

Associations are asked to only ask for Aberdeen Hotel Alliance Grant Sponsorship Funding needed to market, promote, help cover costs of hosting, and make the event more successful.

Do you plan to request Aberdeen Hotel Alliance Sponsorship Grant Funding in the future?

(Only Associations and Events hosting events new to Aberdeen (3 or fewer years in existence), or existing events that are expanded or enhanced to increase the duration (overnight stays), or appeal of the event will be considered.)
Describe in detail how your association or event qualifies for Aberdeen Hotel Alliance Sponsorship Funding past the initial 3 or fewer years of existence where Aberdeen Hotel Alliance Sponsorship Funding may be requested.

Also, give examples in detail how the host association will enhance or expand an event to increase duration (overnight stays), and appeal of the event requesting Aberdeen Hotel Alliance Sponsorship Grant Funding.
