McQuillen Creative Group Juried Student Show/”Always A Student”/Friends of the Arts/Salon De Refuse

With a title this long you know its a big night! NSU galleries and art department are proud to present our annual evening of fine art! Reception March 6th from 6-8 PM, awards at 6:30. Hor’dourves and refreshments provided. This is a FREE event!

The 2026 annual McQuillen Creative Group Juried Student Art Exhibition, juried by Liz Heeren – Gallery director of IPSO Gallery in Sioux Falls and USD Professor. 47 works were selected for this years show and it is one of the strongest student exhibitions I have seen come out of Northern! The exhibition runs from March 2-March 27 in Gallery X (Johnson Fine Arts Center 106).

Salon De Refuse – a new annual tradition for the work that was “refused” from the juried student show. There will be a peoples choice award for the top voted on piece so be sure to vote for your favorite!

Closing reception for Mark Stemwedel and Michael Aasness’s exhibition “Always A Student”, a dynamic painting exhibition that explores the relationships between education, exploration and place. There will be an artist talk in the Red Room (Johnson Fine Arts Center) and their exhibition can be viewed in the main gallery of Johnson Fine Arts Center.
