Northern State University student Kai Brisk will have an opening reception for his senior art show on March 24 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Gallery.

Brisk’s show, “Form and Function,” will be on display in the JFAC Gallery from March 20-31.

Brisk, the son of Kevin and Melanie Brisk, is originally from Buffalo, Minn. A Fine Arts major with a 3D emphasis, Brisk has studied primarily with art faculty members Derek Decker and Tim Rickett during his time at Northern.

Brisk is a member of the Wolves baseball team and past winner of the Northern Edge Award, which partially funded an artist residency in Greece last year.

Brisk said he chose Northern because of baseball and the ceramics program. He will graduate in spring 2023, then plans to work full time under the potter Jon Schmidt in Waconia, Minn.

The March 24 reception is free and open to the public.
