Gypsy Days – NSU Homecoming Week – 2019
Each fall, maroon and gold fever takes over the campus and community of Aberdeen during Northern State University’s annual homecoming celebration, Gypsy Days.
The weeklong celebration draws many alumni back to Northern for a full slate of fun events. The festivities also include the crowning of a Gypsy Day queen and marshal. Northern students decorate business windows all around Aberdeen with Wolves-themed paintings.
The week culminates in the largest parade in South Dakota: the annual Gypsy Day Parade, which draws about 200 groups from South Dakota and surrounding states, including floats and marching bands. The parade takes place on Main Street in downtown Aberdeen. The week also features Northern football, volleyball and soccer games.
Please check the NSU website for specific activities and times.
