Field to Fork
The Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce’s Ag Committee is hosting its second Field to Fork event on Friday, September 10. The purpose is to promote local agriculture and educate consumers on local ag products and how they are produced. Local producers will be on hand to visit with guests and have meaningful conversations about modern ag production. There will be a maximum 200 tickets available. Net proceeds from the event will be donated to Farm Rescue (farmrescue.org).
The format will be food stations rather than a plated sit-down meal. Guests will go to the stations and have items served to them at each one. Right now we are working on 10 stations (7 food and 3 beverage) including: veggies & fruits, charcuterie (hemp, dairy, eggs, bison, turkey, honey, sunflower, flax & oats), sheep, beef, pork, goat, dessert (dairy & soy), wine (2) and beer.
To encourage guests to sample all ag products, they will be given a “chore list” that will be punched at each station as they pick up their items. All completed chore lists will go into a drawing for a prize at the end of the evening.
