Nestled in eastern South Dakota, at the junction of Highways 212 and 281 between Aberdeen and Huron Redfield is ideal for the sportsman. The first recorded successful stocking of pheasants in South Dakota occurred in Redfield in 1908, leading to the first one day open season on rooster pheasants on October 30, 1919. Redfield Carnegie Library, built in 1902 is the oldest continuously operated Carnegie Library in South Dakota. The library is handicapped accessible and offers wireless internet. Open: Monday – Saturday

The C & NW RR DEPOT Museum & Visitor Center, originally dedicated on October 23, 1914, was built in the likeness of the original C & NW Depot in Chicago, IL. Passenger trains serviced this Depot until early 1950’s. Today, everyone can enjoy the railroad items, model trains and artifacts depicting the early days of the railroad. Free Admission – Handicapped Accessible – Open May 1st to December 31–Tuesday through Saturday – 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or by appointment (605-472-4566)
