Brown County Fair
Brown County Fair in Aberdeen, SDEvery August, Aberdeen hosts one of the largest FREE county fairs in the region! It is a staple of family tradition, and it is home to the largest variety of events for young and old alike.

Entertainment can range from big acts in the grandstand to local entertainment on the two FREE stages. Included in the grandstand entertainment for the 2013 BC Fair is Thursday, Aug 15 - Justin Moore, Friday, Aug 16 - Brantley Gilbert, & Saturday, Aug 17 - Gretchen Wilson!

The Brown County Fair also has many other activities such as 4-H and Open Class exhibits, FREE kid's events, a carnival, rodeo, shopping opportunities, and so much more. There is no cost to park and there is no admission to attend the fair, making it affordable for everyone.

South Dakota Film Festival

SD Film Festival in Aberdeen, SDEach September, the Capitol Cinema in Aberdeen hosts the South Dakota Film Festival. This festival is a premier state event that attracts films from around the world; however, special consideration is given to regionally produced films or films made about South Dakota.

Hundreds attend this state-wide event. Each year film makers, students, film buffs, fans, and celebrities gather at the Aberdeen Capitol Cinema for the South Dakota Film Festival.

Come to Aberdeen, South Dakota's biggest attraction, Storybook Land/Wylie Park to the annual Storybook Land Festival. There is no admission charge for this annual festival festival that features published children's authors, storytellers, entertainment and hands-on arts and crafts activities for children and adults of all ages.

Bring the entire family for a day or for the weekend and enjoy the park, stories, music, art, food and fun for all! Enjoy fairy tales and fables in the castle, followed by pictures with fairy tale characters. And, don't forget to bring your appetite! Past Storybook Land Festivals have included watermelon feeds and ice cream socials.
