Presentation College Artist Lecture Series: James Pollock, Soldier Artists and the Vietnam War

Wednesday, November 14, 2018

From August of 1966 to January 1970, the U.S. Army sent teams of artists with sketchbooks and paint brushes into Vietnam as part of the U.S. Army Vietnam Combat Artist Program. James Pollock was one of the 46 artists that participated in the program. Using a digital slide show, he gives a historical overview of the Vietnam soldier program, along with examples of his art and that of the other 45 soldier artists. This presentation was prepared for, and first given, at the U.S. Library of Congress in Washington, D. C. in 2003. After the lecture, the Presentation College faculty, staff and student veterans will be recognized.
